Gardeners will be employed directly by GrowN22 C.I.C. and will work in private gardens, the public domain and ad hoc work sites.
Work activities:
- Maintaining the grounds and landscapes of private clients and businesses.
- Constructing small scale builds, such as decking areas, planters and installing relevant features in gardens.
- Lawn care and treatment.
- Planting and maintaining lawns, flowers and shrubberies.
- Using machinery and at times heavy duty machinery.
- Ensuring soil is kept in good condition by using suitable fertilisers.
- Clearing away leaves and snow from pathways.
- Detailed works include digging, cultivating and general gardening.
- Ad Hoc tasks.
Travel: Gardeners are required to travel to a central meeting spot and at times directly at
a client’s property. This could involve numerous journeys each day.
Working hours: Are usually on a standard 8 to 4pm basis. Hours can potentially be
flexible. There is potential for overtime and additional work days during peak season.
Location: Work is based outdoors. Vacancies are available in Haringey, North London in
public and private gardens. Additional work opportunities are available every three months
in Toulouse, France with travel expenses covered.
Position: The role is part time with an allocation of five full days every month of up to 40
hours. Generally every Monday and one Thursday per month.
Entry requirements: A degree is generally not necessary but knowledge of groundskeeping,
horticulture, gardening techniques is highly beneficial, however full training will
be provided to the suitable candidate. Full and clean driving license is essential. An
enhanced DBS may be required.
