Are you passionate about supporting high streets and town centre businesses? Do you have the ideas and skills to help Haringey’s town centres bounce back and prosper. Could you make a positive difference to our business community?
If this sounds like you, there is an exciting opportunity to join our newly expanded Economic Development Team.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our high streets unlike anything else in our lifetime. Haringey has responded by expanding our Town Centre Management function to cover town centres throughout the borough. The recently published Good Economy Recovery Plan and High Streets Recovery Action Plan set out the challenge and what the council intends to do to address this critical period for the economy.

The post holder, reporting to the Haringey High Streets Manager, will take a lead on town centre management and business support initiatives in the centre of the borough (including Wood Green, Turnpike Lane and Green Lanes commercial centres) with a focus on working with the existing business networks including the Future Wood Green Business Improvement District.
The ideal candidate will have proven town centre management or economic development experience in business engagement and support, project development and managing a project team, securing funding and commissioning work from consultants.
You will have the confidence and proven ability to drive forward complex projects, and will be regularly liaising with senior managers, elected members and a wide range of business stakeholders.
