About this event
Please read everything below before buying your ticket. If you have been before but not for a while you MUST have a ticket to enter due to Covid guidelines, you will not be admitted without one.
The rules are simple, you show up, bring your instrument (voice, acoustic, electronic, dance, puppets…anything) and you will be put on stage with other performers to create a short spontaneous performance. Usually sets are no more than 5 minutes so nothing gets boring, short and sweet. You will perform at least twice in the evening if you arrive on time. You are welcome to try anything, new people are very welcome. Come and talk to the host (Rick) if you have questions. It’s not a jam session and you can’t come and play your “song” we will ruin it if you try. SKRONK is fun and we like bad jokes, however, it is open to all, whatever gender, sexuality, age, race or ability you are welcome. We don’t discriminate and any kind of intolerance will be met with the host Rick (brown belt kickboxer) kicking your arse out.
You don’t have to perform, but you are welcome to. Sign up on the evening and you will be told with very little notice when you are getting on. If you spend most of the evening outside you could likely lose your chance.
There will be amps, drums (bring sticks and cymbals, we usually have them but no promise), PA system with DI boxes (electronics are welcome, please show up early if you want to test anything, however, we won’t have time for complex set ups or soundchecks). Basically, bring what you want to use, we may be able to loan a cable but no promises.
Covid-19 rules: No mixing of households, please contact us about seating if any questions. You must wear a mask at all times you are not seated (except while performing) You must be seated unless performing or going to the toilet, outside etc.
The ticket holder who has made the order will be required to provide the names of anyone else they purchase a ticket for.
the venue does have very tasty and affordable vegan/vegetarian pizza, so you are more than welcome to eat and you can eat in the live room during the show. New River Studios is a community venue and any financial support from buying food and drinks helps keep it going so we and others can make crazy shit like this happen.
Music will finish by 11:00 pm at absolute latest, last drink orders are 10 pm. There will be table service in the live room, and this does mean you may have to wait for your drink a little longer than normal, please be patient with the staff and if you have been waiting speak to Rick who will communicate with the bar staff.
We expect everyone to observe social distancing, particularly going down hallways and coming and going from the venue and toilets. If you purchase multiple tickets you must sit only with people from your household and a maximum of 6.
If you have concerns about being in the room with others we suggest you do not attend as we cannot control everyone’s actions at all times, however, we will do our best to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for the show. The nature of SKRONK is people will move about often.
Finally, there is a strict limit of 30 people, we cannot go over this number. If you purchase a ticket and cannot make it please return it via Eventbrite or contact us and let us know. The last few shows have had waiting lists and it’s much easier if we know in advance. Gigs are limited so don’t take a space you won’t use. One hour after doors open you may lose your ticket if you don’t arrive. You can email or call or use Facebook to get in touch email@example.com, 07807952445, https://www.facebook.com/groups/SKRONK
