By taking part you will be contributing to a larger collaborative community artwork*
Using art to inspire connectedness with nature and our local environment, we will be observing, drawing, cutting, making, gluing, decorating and balancing .
The workshop will start with a brief introduction and demonstration followed by drawing shapes on cardboard and coloured cards, using nature to inspire us ! We will cut out and decorate them using recycled material such as buttons, old CDs, coloured card, pieces of fabric; anything that we can find at home and that we think could add some interest to our shapes and make them as exquisite as possible. If time allows, we will then connect our beautiful shapes together to make a small mobile that will be part of a community Mobile Garden Sculpture * see below for more details
Please bring (per group/person): pliers, unused buttons and CDs, pieces of fabric, coloured card, old flattened cerial boxes or sides of card board from un wanted box or packaging scissors, thin wire and any nature inspired images that you would like to use for your shapes. Don’t worry if you don’t have any, as I will have plenty !
This workshop is part of The Mobile Garden Sculpture* inviting our local community to come together through a series of workshops run by artists from the Crouch End Open Studios.
Participants will be making elements to adorn a larger mobile structure which be a visual reflection of our thoughts around nature and environment. We hope to exhibit as part of the Crouch End Open Studios 2021 Event in September 25th & 26th.
