Experience days at WLFC give you the opportunity to get your hands in the soil, learn more about flower farming and to ask us any questions you might have about how to get your cutting garden off the ground. Both sessions will cover our top tips for growing healthy plants whilst focusing on the key seasonal tasks for tulips in either spring or autumn.
If you’re new to flower growing, tulips are an essential and easy addition to your garden and can be grown in pots or en-masse depending on the size of your plot! Join us at our London cutting garden to learn about how we plant our bulbs (to cram as many in as possible!), select our varieties, get excellent stem length and harvest them for maximum vase life.
10 November 2021
Our autumn session will focus primarily on how to plant tulips in different growing environments: garden, in pots or crates or on a larger scale. There will be some hands on planting, we’ll cover crop protection from squirrels & other predators and participants will get to take home some bulbs to plant at home to enjoy in the spring.
Course runs 10 .00 – 13.00
As with all our courses, the day will begin with a tour of the cutting garden, an introduction to how we grow and updates on our latest plans and additions to the plot. Light refreshments will be provided.
