Yana Stajno is a writer and expressionist painter based in north London. She was born in Zimbabwe of Polish and French parents. She studied at Cape Town University where she became an anti-apartheid activist before moving to north London where she now lives. She has been drawing and painting for fifteen years and continues to work at the Royal Drawing School in Shoreditch. Yana will teach the first two weeks.

Ruma is primarily an oil painter but also produces works in various mediums including mixed media, collages, water colours and photographs. Her work explores both abstract and landscape subjects, drawing from nature and the urban landscape to create subtle dreamscapes and images using the language of painting through the use of vibrant colour and texture. Ruma will teach the 28th Feb and 7th March.

All events in this taster period are FREE and after the 3rd, the cost will be only £5 an hour, making the creative classes accessable to all- (and free if you’re a BAME women who is economically inactive). Instead of spending hundreds on a painting class in central London, work with professional artists in a creative environment, suitable for all skill levels.
